Why Lawyers Are Called Liers

Lawyers are generally believed to be liers. Obviously, for centuries this leaned profession has been under attack by the society which ordinarily should be protective and grateful to it. All kinds of incendiary remarks have been made against lawyers yet lawyers have continued to render the desired services to humanity. Among those that were antagonistic of lawyers was Karl Marx the author of Communist Manifesto. In his thirty-three theses, he posted that under a Communist State that there would be no need for lawyers and law profession. He claimed that lawyers do not contribute to the economy. He called lawyers lazy people who encourage strife in order to make a living. Today history is there to prove how communism and socialism failed in USSR, Eastern Europe, China, North Korea , Cuba and other Latin American States that practiced communism/socialism. Its failure obviously, was because the role of lawyers was jettisoned. Hence, it was anarchy which definitely holds sway in absence of law and order and lawyers. Lawyers are branded liers because of the following reasons: 1. It has been an age long believe to believe Children promise to uphold the legacies of their parents. And by so doing they believe that they have accorded a great honour to them. Hence, lawyers are liers bcs our primogeniture said they are and we hold unto it. 2. Humans are more of emotional being than rational. Majority of humans does not question what they hear. Hence, whatever information that is dished out is swallowed without quotioning. Only a small percentage of people can subject what they hear to test. And the opinions of this few cannot subsume majority view. 3. People hold unto motifs rather than knowledge got through observation and examinationn. 4. Lawyers go to court to defend people. Yes, lawyers go to court to represent and defend their clients using the information the client provided. So if the lawyer says what he has been told and the other party believes it a misrepresentation of facts. It is not the lawyer that lied but the client who supplied the facts bcs the lawyer was not there when it happened. 5. Clients tell lies to lawyers to make them liers. 6. Lawyers try to extract truth from the witness. 7. Many defendants are brought to court with false or trump up charges on their necks. So it is the work of the lawyer to show the court by the questions they asked that available evidence cannot sustain conviction. 8. Lawyers are not stereo type. Lawyers do not believe everything they hear. Lawyers are students of Karl Popper. So a lawyer asks witty questions to ascertain the veracity of a claim especially when he believes the facts provided by the client. 9. Lawyers are good talkers. People tend to accuse those who know how to use words of sophistry. But this is not right. Somebody can be quick in word and still speak the truth while the person who is slow in word icould be the highest manipulator of mankind. 10. When a defendant appears in court a lawyer searches all relevant laws that will benefit their client. A lawyer who tries to rescue his client is not a demagogue nor a charlatan. The evil and wicked ones are those who misappropriate public funds and suject people to hardship. Conclusion. Lawyers are not liers. Thus, by the virtue of their practice many people have been set free after being falsely accused of an offence they never committed. So the society should appreciate the fact that lawyers are professionals who should be venerated than vilified.
