Original Homeland Of Igbos Before They Migrated To South East Nigeria

Origin of the lgbos: Biblical Proof That They Migrated from the East to Eastern Nigeria chukwukaokafor91 studio.opera.com Before now many people have Beforewritten many articles claiming that lgbos came from lsreal to settle in their present homeland. Honestly, l have read some of these articles with little or no believe in the contents of the write up. Some of the authors made reference to Isreal's partial support to Biafra during the Biafra/Nigeria civil war. They asserted that those Jews who played some roles for Biafra did so because of their common ancestry. But l held the view that they could be mercenaries who fought and aided the Biafran side because of monetary or pecuniary interest. And even the Jewish American youth named Bruce Mayrock who set himself ablaze could not persuade nor convince me to believe them. Another recent version of the saga which went viral stated that the ancestral father of the lgbos left Egypt when the Egyptians became cruel to the children of Isreal. The writer went further to say that Eri the father of lgbos was one of the sons of Gad. And he was said to have left with his family and siblings. Hence, the first place they settled and lived was Aguleri. And till today, there is a place called "Ebo Gad" which means Gad's House. This latter version sounds very credible. And l must confess that it reduced my doubts by over 80%. However, l never took further step to obtain more facts.lf l had, this discovery would have been made a long time ago. But actually my subconscious was really yearning for authentication of the above facts. And fortunately, today; l stumbled on facts that gave credence that the lgbos are actually Jews. Hence, l have no doubt that any unbiased analytical and subtle mind will agree with me that all doubts are negated henceforth. And to achieve this, l wish to share this discovery to disabuse the minds of the doubting Thomases. However, there are some misrepresentations l also wish to correct. This misrepresentations are not the product of the mind but of the heart. In other words, it is due to lack of logical application of historical facts. I have been reading and studying the Bible since l was six years old. Honestly, to some people with different background it would sound incredible. But those with similar orientation, won't have any qualms with what l said. I got my first "Bible Nso" when l was 9 years old and then , l was in primary four. The rule in Anglican Church was that from primary four; every Anglican child must have a Bible and Ekpere na Abu that is Hymns Ancient and Modern.. My parents were devout and stunch Anglicans who will never flout such rule. Since then l have enjoyed reading the Bible more than any other written book. Back in those days in Anglican children's Church, we were made to memorize some psalms like: 4, 5, 6, 8,, 15, 21, 23, 25, 35, 51, 121, 125 and 150 etc.. And l was good at doing that. And even today l still recite those psalms off hand Just this morning, as l was going through the Bible as l have been doing since l was a child. l saw a perfect proof to this age-long claim that lgbos are Jews. And l was inspired to share the knowledge with the whole world. Absolutely, this information will correct some false impressions and provide a valid and biblical account about the origin of the lgbos. Numbers which is the 4th Chapter of the old Testament provides an answer to it. Thus, in Numbers 26 vs 16-18 where l studied today using KJV soft copy which contained Daily Study guide, l discovered what has been in the Bible since the Holy book was put down. Frankly, l couldn't vouch that l have read these verses before today. Probably, l had but l never gave it any attention. These names above really corroborated Jewish ancestry of lgbo race. Some of these names include: 1. Eri The descendants of Eri were called Erites. And Erites are Eri people of lgbo tribe which include: Aguleri, Umueri, Oraeri, Nri/Agukwu- Nri and Enugwu-ukwu. 2. Aro The children of Aro were called Arodites. These are Arochukwu people in Abia State and Alor, Ideani, Ojoto, and Obosi of Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State, and Igbuzo in Delta State. Also Ogboos and Ohofia people of Abia State etc. 3. Areli Their offsprings were called Arelites. These are Aguleri and other communities around them. And those communities with Eri as either a sufix or prefix to the names of their towns or communities. However, the aspect of the story that said Eri and others left when children of lsreal were still in Egypt was a misrepresentation. It does not concur with biblical and historical accounts. The Book of Numbers where this account is contained was written in the desert. It was when God mandated Moses to count the population of children of Isreal that can go to war specifically from the age of 20 to 70. And Moses did as God directed him and he wrote the figures down. Therefore, Eri and his sibling Aro must have departed from their brethren during the 40 years of wandering in the wilderness. The 40 years wandering was a punishment to the people bcs they doubted that God could take them to the promise Land. So it was God' plan that those who doubted would not enter the promise Land. Conclusion In the light of the above, there is no doubt that Eri and Arod left their brethren from the wilderness. And embarked on expedition with their house hold. Obviously, that journey brought them to River Omabala where they first settled and from there migrated to the hinterlands.
